CURRENT MISSION
Talk as much as possible!
ABOUT ME
My name is Yuki Tokunaga, 24-year-old university student in Japan.I am quite interested in other countries, especially former socialist countries. I am now working as an interpreter using English, Russian and Japanese.Very challenging and responsible work, but this experience made me mentally stronger.I also work as an announcer at radio station in Moscow, Russia. This radio station is called voice of Russia, if you check on the internet, you will see it.From next year, I am going to work at one of biggest trading companies in Japan. I am sure that I will have much experience going to abroad and widen my perspective.
PHILOSOPHY
'God will help you if you do and try what you like'
and
'Think abstractly and watch around concretely'
First one is very difficult to explain. Every time I try something, I get to know this is what I want to do or not. If it is what you like to do, you can do and enjoy. God never misses your face with joy. He will always pushes your back at the last moment and you will get success.
Second one is more important for me. It is important to think about something abstractly so that your idea does not become just your personal idea. Abstract idea is important to understand what is happening outside yourself. But, if you think about to abstractly, this makes you 'philosopher on the desk'. All people are in the real world. Theory does not help always. So, knowing real world and watching around you concretely is very important to understand this world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As I really love to travel, I have sought a site like this where you can find the place to stay in for free. So, I am interested in the concept of this site.
Also, through meeting as many local people as possible, I want to study more about history of that country.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I tried when I visited South Europe. It was great experience and just amazing to meet many nice people with unique background!
Interests
As for my hobby, I love sports including soccer, swimming, tennis, basketball and so on. I also like to study languages(English, Russian, Spanish, Arabic). As wrtten above, my major at university is the history of communism. Listening to music(Pop, classic, Anime song) is also my favorite way to spend free time.
