About Me
Hello everyone! I'm Yuki Kanai, a 20-year-old university student in Japan. I'd like to travel like locals or to share experiences with travelers to Japan. I'm terribly sorry for not accepting guests, for I live in a dormitory which allows very limited access to visitors...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I traveled alone in January 2016 in northern part of France. I had never been abroad and was a little nervous about spending time in a culture I had never seen and with people with totally different backgrounds, so I chose to stay in hotel during the trip. The 14-day trip was excellent, but I regret not having enough communication with locals. It was only experiences to see cultural heritages or to have delicious foods that I had in France, not ones to meet locals, to communicate with them, or to embrace their cultural backgrounds. I decided to try such things in the next travel abroad.
After returning to Japan a friend of mine recommended me this Couchsurfing service. It was an excellent opportunity for me.
I have never couch surfed ( as of May 2016), but have a strong interest in staying with locals. Although my English skills are partly limited, I will try my best to share great experiences with you.

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a 2nd year student in the Medical Faculty of the University of Tokyo. The first and a half year in the university is for a liberal arts course, so l don't have enough knowledge or skills in medicine.
However, I can make a small talk about how Alzheimer's Disease is caused and how it can be treated. I'm interested in these kinds of research and attending one of the laboratories which specializes in neurological disorders including Alzheimer's. It is so much fun not only to make a design of an experiment and put it into practice, but also to learn more about Alzheimer's and related disorders through discussing with members of the lab.
