I grew up in India and was studying- working in states l about 8 years. I work as a scientist in a pharmaceutical company where i spend most off time researching on new vaccines. I love discussing science! Other than that, I love hiking/backpacking, anything outdoors cooking, reading up sci-fi books, working out, swimming, gardening and of course travelling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have discovered a new found love for solo travel...I thought as a female it will be challenging...but it has been nothing but incredible so far. I thought that I will travel alone in Europe when I planned my 2 month journey there, but I was never alone. Met so many friends and made few more for life!! I will like to meet more such people and learn more about life as local live it and know thier culture and history.
My best experience has been living in CS house where I never exchanged a word or met the host because he was away, but I got permission to stay because my friend CSing there asked the host. He allowed me to stay on absolute pure trust which is pretty mind blowing. I never knew people have so much good faith in strangers. Now, I want to live more of the CS experience!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-I backpacked with 60lbs weight on my back across 93 miles of glaciers in Alaska and lived in wild for a month with no shower or phone! Ask me about it! This also includes hanging in a 100ft deep crevasse and hoping that the rope I am hanging on does not give up on me!

- I also hiked solo half way on Alta Via 2 in Italian Dolomites in heat and rain, about 80km.

- I forgot to give my blabla car ride driver money, even though he went 30min out of his way to drop me to my destination and fed me home cooked meal at his place :(.
