About Me

I am a fresh law graduate who happens to work as a guide at a contemporary art museum and also has a part-time job as a paralegal.

My main interests lie in foreign languages, fine arts, and feminist initiatives.

I taught myself English and Italian, having a passionate interest in the second. I've recently started to give lessons of Italian to an absolute beginner, which allowed me to look at the language afresh. I've also dabbled in German but didn't make much progress. My linguistic journey is documented in my blog on vk.com (a Russian equivalent of Facebook).

The history of art has always been appealing to me. That is how I ended up working in the largest contemporary art gallery in Russia. There, I lead guided tours in Russian and English for adults and children and learn more about the Russian contemporary art scene day by day.

As for the feminist initiatives, I am the host of an English speaking club, the themes of which revolve around feminist-related issues. Once a week I moderate discussions on controversial matters, helping other Russians express themselves in English and creating a space where ideas might freely circulate.

I would also like to say I am into music, but that would be an overstatement. I played the guitar, violin, ukulele, and piano at different stages of my life but now I've abandoned them altogether to dedicate myself to other activities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To learn a new place through the eyes of a local is an invaluable experience that Couchsurfing makes possible. I am fascinated by the idea to not only have good memories of beautiful cathedrals and scenic views but also to create lasting friendships connected with the places I've visited.
