Finally ditched a boring 9-5 job, so now working on my self-independence. Yeah!

ABOUT ME

I like to think of myself as an easy-going, addicted to people, loyal yet cultural interested, professional female. But I have to admit, over time I also came to appreciate my own time and space. I'm a typical cancer, always wonder what grass looks like on the other side. I LOVE animals, I have 4 cats and a dog and hope to be able to give a home to more pets some time in the future. Careful though - I am NOT a catlady! ;o)

I used to be a little Trekki and still think Star Trek is one of the coolest things invented on earth. My favourite books of all time are the Anne of Green Gables series by Lucy Maud Montgomery. I am also totally hooked on Anne Rice books; watch it, should you have read the books, I'm likely to want to know which vampire you identify with the most.

Really, summing it all up, I am happiest when having interesting and fun conversations with people who know their stuff, yet are always willing to learn more and accept a different point of view.

I like welcoming people to my home. I love hosting game nights, BBQs, etc and family and friends and their family and friends are always welcome. I was lucky in the past and have had wonderful people giving me the opportunity to travel cheaply and I want to return this favour to the world! At the same time I am always grateful for someone offering me a helping hand as well...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't done any 'real' couchsurfing yet, but am totally excited to have found this website! I went as an Au Pair to London and New Zealand and have visited many friends' couches - I'm ready to take over yours now... ;p

Interests

Music, books, movies, animals, history, politics, swimming, dancing, esotericism, board games, etc.

I admit, I don't have any real hobby right now. I'm not crazy about sports (unless it's watching the world cup), I don't play any instruments (though I would have loved to learn the piano or guitar), I don't collect stamps or watch birds... But if you join me for a Guinness and enjoy pub quizzes, (board) games, brunch and wine fests, we'll be friends easily. ;-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I still am amazed about the day another car and me stopped to save a duck mum and her little ducklings from the certain death on a German Autobahn. No accident, no horn bumping, all cars patiently waited in line behind our blinking cars... That to me is sheer beauty.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to share stories. I love to hear them and I love to tell them. My friend once said "I envy you, you have all these little stories." And I replied "I don't have any different stories to you, I just turn them into one." That's what I like, people who can tell a story or two and want to know mine.
