About Me
Hello, my name is Yves and I'm a struggling digital nomad.
I was born in Rwanda 29 years ago and moved to France when I was 5 due to historical events. I grew up in the south of France, close to the mediterranean sea and had the chance to study in Montpellier, a beautiful city, one hour from my hometown.
I have been travelling around the world for the past 6 years. In 2011, I spent a year in Montreal, Canada where I met a lot of great people, local and international. From that moment, I caught the travel virus. Since then I've been living in Belgium, in New Zealand and now in Germany. I've also travelled to Thailand, Malaysia and the Netherlands in the last 5 years.
I love meeting people and getting to know them, I'm somehow fascinated by how people think and about what they want to create, so I can be very curious and interested in someone's story. But I have to admit that sometimes I also need to be alone and not talk to people. Life is about balance I hear.
At the moment I am trying to start an online shop to sell streetwear of my own design. I love the way that the internet has made a lot of things possible with all the knowledge available and all the instant communication tools. So with this project I aim to become a real digital nomad and continue travelling while working from my computer (hopefully on a sand dune in Lençóis Maranhenses, Brazil).
I don't know you yet but I bet you have great stories to share and I can't wait to hear them :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've recently met a norwegian guy in Berlin who showed me that Couchsurfing was much more than just finding a place to stay. It's a way to connect with people from all around the world and an interesting way to experience cities in a different way. It is vibrant.
