Hello there, I love meeting people from all over the world. My name is Yvette, I can be called spontaneous, creative, sweet, open-minded, analytic and full of ideas.

I'm a single mother of a son born january 2020. My life has changed a lot since then. From a travelling free spirit to a dedicated loving mom. At the moment my son is the biggest part of my life and love and that makes me very happy. He is a loving, bright and kind child with interests like animals, dinosaurs, the universe, history and he is also playing a whole lot.

I homeschool my son and we try to see a bit of the world together. We are outside as much as we can. Lately thats mostly nearby, but in the future we will try to take it a bit further in the world.

We are happy to host people coming to Ten Boer, where we currently live. It is next to the city of Groningen, in Holland.

I am a hypnotherapist and work online mostly. I will be adding sleepcoaching to this upcoming month. Furthermore my son and I like theatre, arts, cultural events like festivals.
We read a lot on nature, animals, dinosaurs. I am also interested in complex systems and design and studying a masters in Design Driven Innovation, with one year to go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To live or to do things a bit different, a bit off the beaten track, feels more natural to me. I have found couchsurfing to be a wonderful way of connecting with people and feeling welcome around the globe. For instance when I was pregnant of my son I hosted someone from England, it was planned that he would stay 3 days and because he couldt find a student room quick he eventually stayed for 2 months. And he had helped me out so much, like doing groceries or cooking or singing for the child in my belly. It was actually heartwarming.

I love the voice of Anna Ternheim, a singer songwriter.
At the moment I am reading books on sleep and sleep issues, designthinking, design and thinking in systems. And every night before sleep we are reading childrens books about animals, dinosaurs or a lovely story about a bear with an itchy back.
