About Me

I've been busy with my studies for the last couple of years, but have always dreamt of traveling around the world.

While most of my friends went to Spain for drinking, partying en sunbathing I decided to travel to Italy to learn Italian. This was my first time traveling alone. I loved it so much that I went again the year after.

I love to leave the city and camp outside. So I started taking my bike to campsites near my home. This is what I do most of my weekends during spring and summer.

Also I hitchhiked to Berlin some years ago, with a friend. Which was my first hitchhike experience.

I also went to Tanzania for three months, where I was a teacher in film studies. I also made a documentary there.

Last summer my friends and I went hitchiking and couchsurfing from Venice to Bratislava. Visiting 6 countries in 18 days. This was my first real couchsurfing experience and we had the best time and met a lot of great people!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are too many things so far and I plan to add a lot of amazing stories to my life's journey.

The most amazing thing so far would be going on safari in Tanzania. It actually was low season at the time, so there were no safari's available. But this isn't about the safari itself, it's about getting there.

We decided to take public transportation, which is quite a hassle in Tanzania. We starded out with a dala dala and drove off to the countrey. We exited the dala in the middle of nowhere, trying to find a way to continue our journey. The next way to travel was a small pickup truck, which took people and goods. At every passing house, very few miles or so, someone or something would exit or get on. The whole truck was stacked and I was pretty scared it would crack. But after two hours of sitting on a wooden plank we made it to Saadani, a very small fishermans village in the national park. This was where we first heard about the low season, the tourist guide laughed at us for traveling so far to get dissapointed this was. But he was a nice guy and we walked around the villige trying to find a car that could drive us around anyway. The only villager who even had a car was out for the weekend. So the only thing he could offer us was a place to sleep.

After a good nights rest we got up and packed our baggs. There was nothing to do here, so we decided to go back. When we got to the bus stop we asked what time the bus would come. "The bus drove all day," the tourist guide said yesterday. But we realized that morning that his English might have been off, because de bus drove all dayS, only at six in the morning.

When I will meet you I will tell you the rest of this story.
