About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My passion: travel around the world, everywhere, people, scenary, enjoying life peacefully. Vive l'éloge de la lenteur.

ABOUT ME

Like to travel a few times each years, doing hiking, travelling backpack, peacefully, solo or with my wife, anywhere around the world. French speaking, also english,y poquito de espanol. Bed early, up early to enjoy the daylight.

PHILOSOPHY

To take it easy as possible, no rush, no stress.
The earth always turns around in the same direction and it always takes 24 hours to make a complete tour, so whatever you do,...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I host, I try to be a facilitator for my guests in our region or city. Bring them hiking in remote places or downtown if they want. When I travel, I like to share travel expériences, hiking with hosts when possible. I find it is a nice way to communicate with them and their surrundings.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Always a nice experience, hosting or being hosted. Also usefull just to exchange few messages with someone living in another part of the world while preparing a trip.

Interests

Randonnée, hiking, lecture de tout genre, cuisine, realpolitik. Connaitre l'organisation des autres sociétés sur notre petite planète.
And of course, travelling. Toujours toujours les voyages. Always always trips around our little planet.

Music, Movies, and Books

Three cups of tea, Greg Mortenson. Recent movies: Lincoln, «NO» about the referendum in Chile, a must if you can find it somewhere.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been living 2 years in Zambia and 2 years in Bénin, working 3 years in central Africa (Zaire at the time, RDC now). Been travelling backpack in Mexico, Morocco, Nepal, Belgium and France. Been travelling in Nunavik (northern Quebec), Thailand, Japan, India, ... Went up to 5550m in the Himmalaya, at 4300m on the Kilimandjaro, climbed the Pico Duarte to the summit at 3087m in the Dominican Republic, Pike Peaks in Colorado at over 4000m. Really, I like mountains. Hiked over 1700 km on Chemin de Compostelle from Namur in Belgique to Roncevaux in Espagne.

Teach, Learn, Share

Like to share a good meal, good wine or beer or tea, discussions on different subjects. Like to show or to visit a region, and walking thru it is the best way. I also gave French lessons in Zambia.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Après avoir vécu 2 ans en Zambie, 2 ans au Bénin, nous sommes de retour à la maison, à Québec, mais pour mieux repartir visiter le monde en partageant de bons moments, de belles expériences, de bons repas. Bref en profitant de la vie.
