Hey there!

I am Yvonne, alert, feisty , curious and always in for spontaeous experiences!

I grew up in Germany, and completed my undergrad degree in the Netherlands. Currently, I am in the second year of the MA programme in Transcutlural Studies, which I will finish in Japan.
My thesis research is about war memory and perpetrator trauma.
I am interested in the parallels and differences in German and Japanese approaches to war memory and related trauma, and more broadly, in possible ways of fostering sustainable peace through dialogue.

I enjoy meeting new people, exchanging stories and sharing thoughts.

Around the 20th of May, I will be going to Hiroshima to visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial and the Poison Gas Museum on Okunoshima. If possible, I would like to meet people from Hiroshima who are interested in sharing their experiences and viewpoints on history and history education in Japan. Feel free to hit me up :)

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I am mostly into metalcore, alternative indie stuff and techno but also enjoy a broad variety of other music.

It's hard to pin a favourite book down since I love reading, especially poems, fantasy and political stuff.
I'm a fan of the classics like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. My latest discovery is the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan (currently at book 10).

Moreover, I'm into anime, studio ghibli, and Pokémon.

Sharing is caring and nothing is more valauable or more satisfactory than making someone's day better with a small act of simple kindness .

In my free time, I like to crochet and make prints using linocut and gel printing methods.
I also used to do theater and have experience in guiding children through theatrical exercises. For that purpose, I completed a theater mentoring course.
Even though I would not call myself an expert in any of these fields, Ill gladly share what I know :)
