Gather good couch karma!! Meet folks from all over the world and share my little patch of postcard Japan with them! Oh and hopefully network a few couches for when I strike out on my own travels.

ABOUT ME

I was bitten by the travel bug at an early age. I chose my high school for the simple reason that they bothered to advertise an exchange programme. Ever since I have taken every oppertunity to get up and out. I have spent the past two years living and teaching in Japan. It has been quite the trip. While not working, I enjoy spending copious amounts of time in the kitchen, playing music, enjoying good food and drink as well as time with friends. and .. you're my friend... right?

Along with cluinary adventures, I enjoy camping off of my motorcycle and all the perils that involves. I have been from Hokkaido to Kyushu (tip to tip for those unwilling to look at a map)and have enjoyed every kilometer of it.
Hmmm.. I consider myself to be well rounded, a bit of a jack-of-all-trades and at least relatively handy. Unfortunately sarcastic and only running on a moderate ego trip :D

I'm also a huge kendo nut. If you are looking to train in either kendo or jodo, I would be happy to help you with your training mission

Have I mentioned food yet? Can't mention that enough really. Love the stuff.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While I doubt that I will be seeing many people out in the boonies of Japan, but all are welcome. I'm currently living next to some excellent hiking trails and lovely mountain roads.

For those of you travelling on two wheels, I would be thrilled to host you on your travels through Japan. I know my way around the best motorcycling roads of the prefecture and love to ride with new people.

For those of you not on a motorcycle... why? haha, still plenty of off the beaten path things to do around hitachiota. Certainly a side of Japan that most visitors will never see.

Lover of maaaany styles of music. Jazz, trad, and the unplugged stuff seems to be my faves. I've been trying to wrap my hands around guitar finger tapping techniques as of late.
