About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to finish my novel, open my bed and breakfast and cure canine halitosis
ABOUT ME
i am a cultural chameleon... i like many things and many people... i have a lot of interests and so i work hard to know as much as i can. mostly i enjoy learning and growing. i don't fit neatly into any boxes, mostly because i am claustrophobic.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the books i am writing :: power :: politics :: personalities :: examining my attachment to things and stuff :: music :: the state of things :: new patterns to try with two stix :: a new world order :: the organizations that i volunteer for and how to give more while keeping life in balance :: things that go bump in the night :: my cat's emotional overeating and how to get him to drop from 22 lbs to perhaps 18
six things i *cannot* do without
:: universal love :: my journal :: music :: the sun :: good people to share my life with :: a pet of some sort ::
six things i can *always* do without
:: judgmental people :: liars :: fear :: shrimp :: STDs :: guilt ::
The most private thing I’m willing to admit to you right now:
i listen to tango music while grocery shopping it makes walking up and down the aisles more fun for me and for those watching me twirl between the frozen food doors
I’m really good at
untangling snarls of yarn and the related metaphors of doing this in real life :: making people laugh :: dancing :: showing up for my friends :: crossword puzzles :: meditation :: singing in the car or in the shower :: spontaneous rituals :: being a tour guide :: knowing about unseen and unknown places ::
PHILOSOPHY
Don't blame the lettuce - from Thich Nhat Han
What it means to me:
don't blame anyone when things inevitably go off course. Look for the ways we can grow and learn. When lettuce doesn't grow we don't yell at it and call it names, like "Stupid lettuce!" We go investigate why it isn't growing. So it is with people too, learn how to cultivate the best lettuce, the best and most authentic friendships you want. Don't yell at people or blame them look at how you can participate differently and be more present.
