About Me

I am a passionate activist exploring the world of climate change adaptation and land management. When I'm not working I am in the field hiking, biking, or longboarding around Melbourne when I’m there. I am a long time volunteer and my current spot is as an environmental project officer for the Asia Foundation via AusAID . Before the ausaid, I was a broadcasters on a community radio station in Tasmania for several years with a show focused on psych music and environmental issues. When I travel, the places that leave the most profound impact on me are wilderness landscapes and traditional music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Interested in meeting people from other cultures while sharing the culture I live in. I've hosted several Rainbow Gathering folk while living in Tasmania and never really got onto this site though. While my apartment is small, I am open to sharing it with the right kind of person.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any music by Woods or Pink Floyd just sings to me. I love reading Kurt Vonnegut, Cormac McCarthy, and Tim Flannery. The films I like most include Samsara, Baraka, Chronos, Life in a Day, the Florida Project, Contact.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A couple of years ago I wrote a blog for the Medical Mission Foundation while I was traveling with them in Romania while they provided free healthcare to citizens who could not access healthcare regularly. The experience has had a lasting impacting on me and I look forward to going back to help in Eastern Europe. The blog is here for anyone interested: https://www.medicalmissionsfoundation.org/mission/romania/

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook! I am also happy to swap languages for fun. My couch is comfy enough and I have sleeping mat if you are a pair. My availability is limited during office hours and I only have one key to my door and can’t make copies, which means access to the unit is challenging if I’m not around. Inconvenient to be sure, but if that doesn’t bother you my home is your home.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, China, Mexico, Mongolia, Romania, Viet Nam
