About Me

CURRENTLY LIVING IN MADRID:

Engineering student in Madrid with a love for travelling and meeting new people. I visit cities to discover its culture , live and have fun like a local while appreciating the architecture, food and music.

What Travelling means to me:

-Living in the moment; taking in and being grateful for every sight, smell and emotion a foreign place may bring you.

-Appreciating the little things and life at the bare minimum; realising that possessions do nothing but hold you back.

-The freedom of going where you want to go, speaking to who you want to speak to and being who you are with nobody’s opinions holding you back.

-Going with a positive and open mind, while allowing for a flexible plan. Not knowing where you’re gonna sleep, who you’re gonna meet and what you’re gonna do adds to the excitement of spontaneity. With no expectation , you’re only gonna be surprised with whatever happens.

-Pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone to face new challenges. You get to learn so much about yourself and understand that you’re strong , smart and independent enough. You’d soon realise that your problems are much smaller than you think.

-Being happy and comfortable alone only to realise that you’re never really alone since we’re all connected by the common language of love and kindness.

-Challenging your perspective of what makes you and others happy, giving you the chance to consider the changes you’d like to make to your life.

-My motivation to travel is fuelled by a curiosity of different cultures and the way people live their lives in different places . It’s about challenging people’s and the media’s perception of different countries in the world ... the only way to know and understand the truth is to go out there and see it for yourself.

Travelling is fun and a good life is all about surprises... Why live a mundane life of routine and monotony?

Escape to be present, remove all expectations and allow the beautiful unpredictability of life blow you away

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m interested in really experiencing a city through the eyes and life of a local.

I have also recently discovered a new philosophy of travelling with as little as possible (be it money or belongings) which has taught me that it is about the unquantifiable and priceless experiences that make travelling so memorable.

Hitchhiking, wild-camping and CS are all ways of allowing this, which I am so thankful for.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the underground electronic music scene, the upcoming London jazz scene, soul , house ,rock, disco and funk. In the past year I’ve discovered and fallen in love with minimal techno (particularly artists and releases on Perlon records), Music by fela Kuti as well as drum n bass and jungle.

I love quite a wide range of music genres because of the different emotions these frequencies can give me.

Big fan of moderat, pink floyd, fela kuti, Nicolas jaar, yussef kamal, susumu yokota, jon Hopkins, buena vista social club, gotan project

I love movies by Christopher Nolan and Quentin Tarantino.

I am not and avid reader but have enjoyed books like Kite Runner and Siddartha.

I love to share the music I listen to and could open your eyes up to all sorts of different experiences from music.

I'd love to introduce you to capoeira if you've not heard of it with some of the fundamentals, its history and the music. I'd also love to share with you why I love it so much!
