I got tired of the rat race in the States and quit my "good" job to hit the road and get more life in my work/life balance. I'm not sure what I'll get into next for work but it's going to be enjoyable and hopefully help some people.

I grew up hearing "no matter where you are, there you are, so make the best of it" and that saying has led to lots of good stuff. Somewhere along the way I realized that I don't really make plans in general, spontaneity is way more fun to me. Unless, I've had a few beers, then plans for off the wall stuff like hours long road trips to horse races, off roading jamborees, off-shore fishing, etc. start getting made.

I like questions...a lot. I like learning about everything around me and am all about some good beer or bourbon and a good talk. If somewhere along the way I hear that a friend has a problem that I can help with then I'll chime in and do what I can. Call it karma, pay it forward, or whatever have you; I've just always thought it's the right thing to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was talking to a friend and she mentioned I ought to check this out when I hit the road so here I am. I've done a little reading around on here and I see why she told me about it...seems like people just helping folks out for a little while and enjoying some good times along the way. That was right up my alley.

Interests

Things with engines and motors, fishing, BBQ (or whatever you call it in your area), and things that I haven't come across yet. Pretty vague I know, I'm just that open to new stuff.
