Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have travelled quite a bit but I am new to couchsurfing. I've found that my favourite way to travel is to go somewhere where I already have friends who can introduce me to their home and their networks. I love the idea that couchsurfing can facilitate that experience.

Music: Grimes, Flight Facilities, Weezer, Janet Jackson, Blink 182, Robyn — anything with a good beat for dancing or that activates my late 90's early 2000's nostalgia

Movies: Most things by Wes Anderson, Sofia Coppola, Wang Kar Wai. I know every line to Matilda. Currently watching a lot of French cinema -- anything with Guillaume Canet. Jeune Femme by Léonor Serraille is my current favourite.

Books: Jonathan Safran Foer, Jeffrey Eugenides, David Sedaris, Lore Segal, Miranda July, Italo Calvino, Nadine Gordimer. More into magazines these days: Jia Tolentino, Doreen St. Felix, Anthony Lane.

The other day I spent 5 hours watching Janet Jackson's All For You music video on 0.25 speed to learn all the moves.

I enjoy engaging in interesting and stimulating conversation. Learning languages is a passion of mine. I've started learning some Italian in anticipation of this trip and am eager to improve in an immersive environment.
