About Me
Just a dude with a passion for making an impact through my work, being a part of my community, creating and sharing great experiences, and lifelong learning....and travel....and music....and donuts....
I grew up in small-town central Pennsylvania and spent 9 years in the military after high school...4 years at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, and then 5 years in the USMC as an officer...this career took me to Virginia, Florida, and Japan.
I moved to Boulder, CO after the military...needless to say it was a complete change of pace. I work in project management, have a passion for entrepreneurship, and enjoy all things Colorado...the top of a 14er is my favorite place to be!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meeting new people, creating relationships, and sharing experiences are what life is about. I love traveling to learn about places and people; it's not just about "seeing the sights," although that is part of it. I'll take immersing myself in an area through Couch Surfing than staying in a sterile hotel environment any day.
I have had some fantastic and memorable experiences with Couchsurfing so far...
In 2015 I made a cross country road-trip from PA to TX to CO...I was fortunate to stay with several Couchsurfing hosts on this trip, which you can read about it my reviews. They were...
Jose - Memphis, TN
Grant - Lubbock, TX
Nathan - Boulder, CO
I plan to host in the future when I get my own place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ah man, these are always tough...
I climbed Mt. Fuji in Japan back in 2013 which was pretty cool...
Oh, here is one a little more unique...
As part of training when I was in the military, I spent a month on board a nuclear submarine. One night, we surfaced and I went up on top. First off, I've never seen a clearer night sky. Second, one of the coolest things was, as the submarine was cruising through the water it activated all of the bio-luminescent plankton it agitated...so it created this eerie neon green glow around the sub and in the trail of our wake...pretty cool.
