About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Hi everyone! I am a medical student touring the country to do residency interviews and an away rotation. I could spend the last of my savings on these, but I think meeting friendly locals who can tell me more about the cities (and save a few bucks simultaneously) is a much better option!
ABOUT ME
I'm a student, I'm adventurous (though a little careful and shy at first), I travel light and am up for trying just about anything. I am fairly athletic and enjoy ultimate frisbee, american football, racquetball, and I'll play pretty much anything else. I love learning about new people and new things! I love greyhound dogs and I am involved in finding homes for retiring racers, although I won't be bringing my boys with me on my journeys.
PHILOSOPHY
To have a closed mind is to miss out on so much in life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I went surfing in Costa Rica two summers ago. In school I have lived in a studio apartment, so hosting has been pretty limited, but I hope wherever I end up in residency I will have an extra bedroom to host quite a bit!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed some in Costa Rica, and I'm looking forward to hosting for the first time!
Interests
Sports, nature, learning, medicine, and greyhounds. I like pretending it's possible to learn everything there is to know and live like I'm trying to do just that.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Anything but American country music is pleasant to me. Favorites are Incubus, B.B. King, Cee Lo Green. Favorite movies: Pirates of the Caribbean, Into The Wild, Shawshank Redemption. Books: I don't get to read much outside of textbooks these days, but I love short stories by Jack London.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my all-time favorite things I've seen was the bio-bay in Puerto Rico. It has bioluminescent dinoflagellates that glow a beautiful turquoise everytime you move in the water. This is a different place, but the same concept:

Teach, Learn, Share
I am the kind of person who knows a little bit about a lot of things, but I like to think I know more than the average person about medicine and the human body. I teach CPR and First Aid and EMS classes in the US. If anyone wouldn't be bored to hear about it, I'll talk as much as they want to listen!
I especially want to learn to be a better surfer and improve my Spanish, but I am interested in hearing about almost anything!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm going into emergency medicine, and I have some stories about the ER people usually enjoy. If that isn't your style, I can at least share a 6 pack of something or a bottle of wine and see what topics come up!
