Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
To be multilingual like my cool European friends.
ABOUT ME
Hallo! I am Zach, a recently graduated student. My first passion was mathematics but after graduating I am taking some time to read language, philosophy and politics.
When I was younger I wasn't able to travel abroad much, but now I finally have an opportunity and so I am looking to meet as many new people as possible and see what life in other countries is like!
PHILOSOPHY
I had heart disease when I was a teenager which was treated with a heart transplant. As such I am often forced to be acutely aware of my own mortality. I believe that most people are fundamentally good, although sometimes we have to deal with evidence to the contrary.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
In the past I have hosted a few people, both through couchsurfing (albeit through a shared account) and through friends made online.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In high school I joined an amazing videogaming community that helped host people around the country for a variety of events and I think it was through that that I was introduced to the notion of couchsurfing. Many a night was spent awake talking with others.
During my student years I was able to house a few friends both from these communities and others, and found it just as rewarding. I hope that when I next settle down I will have more opportunities to do so.
Interessen
I maintain fairly nerdy interests - I do work for a fan-made videogame team called Project M, trying to make it more accessible to European gamers. I equally love boardgames, they're a great way to break the ice with people and offer a setting to meet new folks.
I enjoy reading mathematics as well as political philosophy, and am currently attempting to learn new languages.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Kevin Smith is my favourite movie writer, director, etc.!
I don't read too much fiction, but when I do it's often Terry Pratchett. Otherwise I love short stories or the essays of Bertrand Russell.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
In university as a replacement for studying I taught myself fancy card trick things, juggling, ring and pen tricks!
Perhaps more practically, I know lots of (pure) mathematics!
