About Me
For some of the best walking tours of Welli that a human can experience, message me for more details. If you are interested, I can make myself available as a guide at certain times.
To date, I am still yet to travel around the South and most parts of Central America. If you are from El Salvador, Costa Rica, Columbia, Brazil, Venezuela, Peru, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Belize, Cuba, Jamaica, Barbados, Uruguay, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago, or somewhere else in the Americas. You might be at a slight advantage in terms of getting a response. Admittedly, there may be a bias towards people from places I have yet to travel to or places I have been and loved. Everything below the Linktree link is years old and may need to be updated, I will get there. For now though. This will do.
It would be fair to say that I believe I am a pretty awesome dude. These days I could care less what other people think of me. Although in my experience most people who get to know me agree about the awesomeness.
With gratitude, I am a dual citizen of Aotearoa and Europe, by way of Ireland. Born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand, it was my gran that was born in Bessbrook, hence the Irish passport. Other family members have told me about my Scottish, Welsh, English, and Scandinavian roots (Norwegian and Swedish to be specific). Learning more about my ancestry is important to me. In recent years I have learned my great-granddad was born in South Africa, and I am one of those people who believes the African continent is roughly where mankind began. Somewhere along the line, everyone's family tree reflects that. Having a real culturally and ethnically diverse family that is spread out all over the world has shaped who I have become. The notion that we are all one as humans rather than being segregated by race is how I like to view humanity.
PHILOSPHY
Everyone eventually gets what they deserve. Let us strive to live our lives deservingly of our hopes. Believing we will be blessed, and we will. With that said, there are often great trials of our faith before greater blessings. Everything in life works for the good, even the bad.
Oh and if your request looks like a copy-and-paste job, without displaying a little spark of your personality and genuine interest in my own, listen to the wind blow. Perhaps I am a little picky with replying to hosting requests and have a quality-over-quantity approach to CS. My response rate might be less than 100% although my response to awesome requests is close to that, and most of those inspiring requests end up with a surfing experience that reflects the efforts made.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far, mostly as a host, which I would liken to traveling without traveling outside of your hometown. It has been a blessing to host people from all over the world, as a guest I have also been hosted in Delhi, Barcelona, Amsterdam, New York, Brussels, Bruges, and more.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Since 2009 I have been active on CS, there have been periods where I have gone without hosting anyone for years, and weeks where I have hosted over a dozen people. As you can probably imagine, I have a few stories.

Music, Movies, and Books
'The Lion King', 'Lion' and 'Life Is Beautiful (La vita è bella)' are some of my favourite movies of all time, 'City Of GOD (Cidade de Deus)' is another favourite too, can't forget Kanye West's 'Runaway' either. I'd say I like any music that inspires you, there is a time and place for all types of music but if I had to be more specific I would say Hip-Hop and dance music. Recently I've been acquiring more of a taste for Orchestra and Choir music. As far as reading goes, I'd say it's my biggest addiction, I read every day. The last book I read was Lena Dunhim's 'Not That Kind Of Girl' because I am that kind of guy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Only one?! In that case, as a true Kiwi, I'd have to say a road trip around New Zealand during the 2011 Rugby World Cup. I attended 11 RWC games, including the quarter, semi and grand final the All Blacks played in, and won!
