ABOUT ME

Now this is never easy. I'm 33 at the moment. But I don't live the organised life that many seem to think you should be doing at this age.

For most part of my life I have lived in Stockholm, but I always travelled a lot. I got my journalist degree and worked for 4 years in the news room until I decided I wanted to see more of the world. I also had the feeling that as a journalist I should be part of changing the world to a better place. I quit my job and moved to Jerusalem to start freelancing. That was a great decision. Since then I have worked in the Middle East, New York, Southeast Asia and Australia. I recently spent a longer stretch of time in Stockholm, Sweden working at the radio. But now I have made my next move. To New York. I have wanted to try freelancing there for sooo long...

PHILOSOPHY

I try to enjoy life to the fullest. There is no reason why you should be stuck in a job or a place that doesn't do it for you. I'm trying to be as happy as I can as often as I can.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host when I can, which will mostly be in the summer when I am at my country house outside Stockholm. I've surfed too. But mostly I am at CS to meet people. I've had several drinks with travellers in Stockholm, I've hosted a Friday gathering togehter with the web site Spotted by Locals. At the moment though, I am the guest sort of - in New York, so now I let other people organise while I'm just along for the ride.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only great experiences. I have hosted, surfed and met for coffee in my town and as a traveler.

Interests

I love my work, which at the moment concists of going to interesting places, meeting people with an interesting story to tell, and ask them about it. I'm lucky!

I like photography, filming, writing (which is also part of work). I love watching and analyzing film. I love to travel. I like cooking but wish I was better at it. I love eating good food and drinking great wines. And I really enjoy discussing everything between heaven and hell while I do that.

I'm a real big city addict cause of all that cities have to offer when it comes to music, art, fashion and cosy cafés and bars. But I also really enjoy the country side. I spend plenty of time in the Swedish one where I have my country house. I work in the garden, walk in the forest, go swimming in some lake or take it easy.

Music, Movies, and Books

I was mostly into the alternative/indie rock scene before, as in Radiohead, Franz Ferdinand, White Stripes. But now I listen to a lot of things - lounge music, chill out, dub reggae, singer songwriter, electro - anything good really. At the moment Santogold is going strong in my iPod.

Favorite films are: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Amelie from Montmarte, Shawshank Redemption, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Thank you for Smoking, Children of Men, Trainspotting. And a lot of older stuff like Film Noir, French Nouvelle Vague...
