About Me

Born and raised outside Syracuse NY and I've been traveling across the USA by car in my VW Jetta. Id say I've struggled at points of my life but I wholeheartedly believe we're stronger for the hardships we push through. We are also ultimately more than the sum of our parts. Part of the reason I left NY was to continue to better myself as a person and keep working on my social anxiety which has worked wonders so far but I also view it as a continuous process. I also honestly hope to be a pleasant guest for anyone I have the pleasure of staying with.

Went to SUNY New Paltz in NY and have certain prospects back in Syracuse, but I want to figure out if that's the path I truly want to take. I'm trying to broaden my perspectives on the road and continue to have personal growth along the way, if I can. I've been on the road solo since feb 1st 2020 (returned to NY Oct 2020, left again May 2021) learning a ton from everyone I meet.

Always open too learning new great places to drive to since I've always found a certain kind of peace on the open road, seeing new places, and forming new connections both with nature and cities. So let me know about all the cool stuff in your area! ^_^

Beyond that I'm figuring out what exactly it is I want to do with my life having gone to business school and worked many different jobs. Traveling and meeting new people helps immensely with that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm roadtripping solo right now across the US and CS seemed like a good way to extend my traveling while meeting new, interesting people. So far and mostly during 2020 it's been an incredible, interesting, and life-affirming experience that helped make me more hopeful in the overall goodness of people. I also enjoy learning new things and having good conversation, plus trying new food while I travel to expand my diet and tastes is a huge plus.

Traveling solo has been a fantastic experience but it is sometimes hard meeting people so I'm glad I joined Couchsurfers. I hope in the future I can begin hosting my own travelers :)

Interests

I've been a gamer/reader most of my life but also love seeing nature. I want to expand my interests and hobbies while I travel and meet new people. I met some incredible people while at SUNY New Paltz that helped bring me out of my shell and I truly believe positive thinking and socialization are part of what helped me along my own personal journey. I'm also still learning all the time and even though I'm 28 I feel as though I'm only at the beginning of my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Rock/alternative, rap, classic/prog rock, EDM, classical, jazz, and any kind of genre fusion really. I love to read fantasy or sci fi mostly but that's expanded to many new genres as I keep picking up books/interests... seen lots of movies, shows, and anime (so much anime 😆 no worries if it's not your thing I love all sorts of media)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to Lake George in the Adirondacks quite a few times

New Orleans twice, once during mardi gras, barkus dog parade!

Nashville broadway street

Saw a bunch of Austin TX, fun city and great people.

Driven through the smoky mountains after it stormed so it was shrouded in eerie, beautiful fog. (Intense driving lol)

Lots of Colorado, Nevada, and Utah on my footage :) also lots of California but mostly central CA, so far...

Phoenix, AZ... NYC on a whim since I'd never been and wanted to see the ocean. Taking solo trips all around simply following my heart even when it felt tough or scary at first to break out of the bubble of a life I'd lived for so long. That, to me, both last year and this year, is the one amazing thing I've done.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always open to learning new things and taking what insights I can from the people I meet. I would also love to share what bits and pieces of the lessons I've gathered throughout my own life. I was a homebody for a while but have had quite a few people who left a positive impression on me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm respectful and honest but I'd also love to help out in any way I can while I'm staying. Dont be afraid to ask me to help with chores or dishes. I'm also pretty open and down-to-earth but like to learn new things and try to better myself in ways that I can.

I'm a good listener and will be a courteous, pleasant guest if I'm allowed in someone's home. I want to have a memorable roadtrip and hopefully can be a guest hosts appreciate having stopped by, if at least for some conversation and/or new insights. Everyone's milage may vary for what they're looking for both as a guest and a host so I try to repect that as well.
