I'm a Singaporean studying in the UK and looking to travel the world while youth (and time) allows me and to meet people from all around so that my mind and worldviews can be expanded whilst the brain is still young and malleable!

I study human sciences (which is a wonderful combination of genetics and anthropology) and am always looking to see how theories I study look like in the real world. So am always excited to learn about other cultures and disprove many (in my opinion) defunct anthropological theories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend introduced this to me and told me about the wonderful people she met through the app!

Have also been travelling in groups but finally ready to try solo traveling and so I think this would be perfect as a solo traveler to meet new people and have new and varied experiences

Interests

I really like reading because it transports you out of your world (in the same way that travelling does but just in a more metaphorical way). I'm quite the rapid reader and once successfully completed a one book a day challenge for 14 days while stuck in quarantine (covid days!).

I'm also fascinated with all things to do with leaving the ground and feeling like a bird so flying, gliding, and skiing are also things that make me feel free.

I also play floorball which is this sport that's like hockey (unihoc?) that's super popular in Scandinavian countries and somehow found its way to Singapore. It's a really fast paced and challenging game and I enjoy it for the adrenaline rush it brings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My friends and I decided on a whim to climb some random mountain while in Macedonia. 7 hours later and after crawling (literally at times) through ice (we didn't realise it would be snowy at the top) we were rewarded with the most breathtaking view at the top of the mountain.

It was then I realised that the world was huge and that there were so many more breathtaking experiences available for me out there that I had to experience for myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I'm really young and haven't had much experiences in life haha so not sure what I can teach but I think I'm decent at tech so if you need help with it I'm sure I could teach you to do somethings?

Learn: Always down to learn more about people's life and the experiences they've gone through. I think everyone in this world is unique and has their own story and I love love love hearing people's life stories and learning from their experiences and feeling their feelings

What I Can Share with Hosts

As an Air Force Pilot trainee now and a RPV Pilot previously, I can entertain you with stories of flying and what it's like to be coordinating your hands, feet, and breathe in an attempt to do a loop in the air whilst not throwing up over the instructor pilot. All while fighting the effects of forces 4x your bodyweight acting upon you.

Fun experiences aside, I am also extremely neat and having lived on my own while studying in the UK have a thing for keeping the places I abide in in order. There is a certain satisfaction in seeing a place be tidy and so I will definitely be keeping your place tidy AND be more than willing to help with a cleanup or sprucing up.
