Overview
About Me
I recently graduated in May 2019 from Rice University with a degree in Computer Science. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and meeting new people is also a passion of mine. I have done a little bit of traveling outside the United States in the past, but now I am about to embark on an epic adventure with my college roommate of the last 3 years.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Instead of pursuing a 9-5 in Silicon Valley, CA, I decided to travel the world with my college roommate, starting in June 2019. As apart of this experience we are hoping to meet people from all over the world and trade stories and share experiences. Also, did I mention, I decided not to take a job? So, obviously, I'm traveling on a shoestring budget.
Although I'm an inexperienced Couchsurfer at this point, I can see that Couchsurfing provides an incredible network of people to meet and spend time with. I'm really excited and keeping my eyes open to see what unfolds over this next year and beyond.
Interests
I spent the entirety of my university career studying computer science to become a software engineer. However, I'm not ready to jump into the tech industry at this point. I am more interested in community development in some way. I want to know how different organizations and/or projects work, what roles are needed, what obstacles are more common and/or most difficult, etc. If you know anything about helping other people through building and supporting communities, feel free to reach out!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Probably pretty common, but I went skydiving spontaneously once.
I turned down pretty great job offers to travel and learn from experience instead.

Also really down to talk about big questions in life, to learn about your perspectives on life and what matters.
