ABOUT ME

I graduated from Michigan State University in 2012 with a BA in Arts and Humanities. 2011-2012 I did a year of service with AmeriCorps and AIDS United living in Albuquerque, NM doing non-traditional HIV prevention at a community organization for young gay, bi, and trans men. After that I worked in Michigan for a few months, then spent 7 months teaching English in Korea. Now I'm back in Michigan for the time being, managing a store that sells gourmet olive oils and balsamic vinegars, among other things.

I'm quirky and friendly and enjoy all kinds of things from outdoors activities (camping, hiking, biking, swimming, beaches!!), food, conversations on all kinds of topics (from serious to goofy), meeting new people, etc. I'm very much a go with the flow and fly by the seat of your pants type person.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life, have fun, make a difference, love others, be passionate, and get your freak on! Werk your quirk! Get out of your comfort zone and into your learning zone! We all have something to contribute and we all have something to learn.

兴趣

I'm really into music. I play a lot of instruments, mainly piano and classical saxophone (and bass clarinet), and I also sing. In college I was a co-founder and vice president of an acapella group. I really love listening to music and really getting into it. I almost majored in it actually. I like almost any kind, as long as its good.

I'm also really interested in cultures and just experiences and living life. Some of my favorite moments are when I feel purely alive. ¡Pura Vida!

I love all kinds of music as long as its good and takes talent. This for me means anything from indie, indie rock, reggaeton, bachata, cumbia, salsa, rap, spanish rap, hip hop, classical, jazz, electronic, really anything. Some of my favorite bands are Architecture in Helsinki, Mala Rodriguez, Orishas, Ivy Queen, Don Omar, Aventura, Los 33, Tchaikovsky, Gustav Holst, Debussy, Pacha Massive, Anita Tijoux, Instituo Mexicano del Sonido, DJ Bitman/Bitman & Roban, Ratatat, Thievery Corporation, Calvin Harris, and many others.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I jumped off a 300ft high bridge in Banos, Ecuador. Also, teaching Korean elementary kids English in Korean public schools was quite an experience!
