About Me

Recently married, my wife Amelia & I want to begin our life together in a stage of exploration. Lovers of art, history, & new cultures, we'd love nothing more than to spend our entire lives traveling! Between escapades, though, we live in the beautiful coastal city of Charleston, South Carolina, a foodie's paradise where the struggle between eating amazing food & maintaining an acceptable beach body is eternal!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

i'm passionate about traveling & experiencing the world while I'm living in it. one of my greatest loves is art, including literature & architecture as well as visual art. for me, I think the best thing about traveling is getting a firsthand encounter with a place, a relic, or a culture that lets me better understand one of history's artists, especially writers. couch surfing lets me interact with people who are a part of those cultures, who are involved in the community of the place I'm just experiencing, & it allows me to be that person for someone else as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

music: i'm an indie kid.

movies: i'll watch just about anything, but if it's bad i'll probably start making fun of it. which is why my wife hates watching movies with me. haha.

books (authors): i'm hoping to go to grad school soon for medieval literature. i love anything related to mythology & folklore, especially arthurian legend.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

got married to the love of my life &, on a very short budget, found a way for us to travel to six new countries in one year!

What I Can Share with Hosts

if you'll supply the kitchen, we'd love to fix you up something to give you a taste of where we come from- the american south, & that means comfort food, whether it's buttery biscuits with pimento cheese (not cookies, biscuits!), sausage & grits, or some homemade spiced peach jam.
