ABOUT ME
I grew up on fish farms in North Carolina and Virginia. It was a family business and was awesome to work for growing up but after college it didnt work out so well.
On a Sunday in March 2008, I started doing a lot of thinking. I decided I wasnt happy working for my dad and that the area was way to boring for my adventurous desires. So... at 10pm I decided I was going to move away from there. I started packing my things and by about 1:30am I was finished packing and it was time to decide where to go. So I thought to myself, I'll go as far as I can. So I got in my car and started heading west from Virginia. California it is. I didnt tell anyone that I was leaving and was half way across Texas before I talked to any of my family (and thats cause i needed to stay with my dads brother in New Mexico ha ha).
Every since I got here I have no intentions of moving back to the east coast. California is awesome.
I'm a very open person and not shy at all. When I meet new people we usually immediately become friends. Usually I get along with everyone that I meet. My room mate is an ambassador on couch surfing and every since I moved in with him I have extremely enjoyed hosting surfers. I absolutely love meeting new people, learning about new cultures, and hearing about peoples travels. So, I joined couchsurfing.
PHILOSOPHY
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
-Mark Twain
Also, I really like the quote that this crazy supertramp kid said in a book. "There is nothing more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future." Right now I kind of see life like that. I dont have a career that I plan on being at for an extended period of time. I like my job but really only have it because I need it to pay the bills and save money to travel. My dream job? I would like to be able to make a living acting.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm looking to help other travelers out by giving them a place to stay while showing them around the wonderful city of Los Angeles. I've mostly only hosted so far but am starting to do a bit of traveling myself. So, maybe I'll find myself on your couch in the future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have hosted lots of couchsurfers and so far all of them have been absolutely awesome. I have got a chance to go out on the town with all of them and we had a blast. I love being a host.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like too many movies to even start. I'm a filmmaker. Which means watching a movie is considered research ;) I do A LOT of research.
As for books a couple that I really liked were:
-Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis
-Into the Wild by John Krakauer
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Drove across the country on a whim, caught a fly with chop sticks, seen the grand canyon, seen the grand canyon in a snow storm, done a back flip on a wakeboard, gone frog hunting and ate frog legs, survived salmanella, wrote/produced/directed an entire feature film from start to finish. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4698940
