About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Currently, I am stationed in a stonehouse with four awesome roommates. I hope to host and meet the traveling souls in the world by surrendering our couch up.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Rhode Island for the first ten years of my life up until I moved to St. Louis for the next ten. Although there were some great things like the City Museum and Forest Park in St. Louis, I do not miss the humid summers and the heavy traffic which is why I am so happy to be in Burlington, VT. Here, I enjoy bicycling when the weather permits along with walking to almost every destination I need. Our house tries to cut down on waste in every aspect and we love to take on new systems of tidiness. I couldn't be luckier to have a wild pack of youngins to live amongst.

PHILOSOPHY

I tend to think with an open mind and believe everyone is capable to do the same. I live day by day and hope to see more of the world in the future so one day my stories will be somewhat more interesting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Although I dont have their references, my house has hosted plenty of couch surfers and I have couch surfed with a friend (while in Boston). Last year my roommate Jess Longobardo had an account where I think we had at least 3-5 couch surfers stay. This year, Sasha Bridger and the rest of us have hosted 4+ so far and plan to continue the trend. It seems like every week we have either a friend, family or couch surfer staying with us.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I cannot complain! Every joyful person has been an inspiration to join and get out on the road to surf along with them! I joined a friend to Boston for the pride parade in the summer of 2011 where we stayed with a Columbian couple who worked at Stanford. I don't remember their names but the hospitality and generosity they showed was somewhat of a standard I have tried to resonate through my own hosting experiences. I always enjoy hearing others tell me their awesome experiences with CS.

Interests

-I am trying to swim a mile without stopping for the month of February
-bread is something I am and will always be trying to master
- I enjoy caring for my houseplants especially during the trying times of the winters up here
-biking with no hands on the waterfront.

Music, Movies, and Books

currently into alternating between Haruki Murakami and children's fantasy books. I find the combination keeps my mind occupied but youthful

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw a classroom of children watch the movie Flubber. Soon after we all made Flubber in a bowl with water and borax. The room was filled with squeals and shrieks of pure excitement as they stretched, bounced and squished Flubber. It was when one kid stood on his chair with tears in his eyes and yelled "this is the happiest I have EVER been" that I had that 'proud parent' feeling. Unfortunately I had to ask him not to stand in his chair.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a pretty solid kneading technique I transferred over from wedging clay. Most of my quirks are unteachable but usually rub off when the time is right:) haa
