ABOUT ME

I am a math teacher based inPortland, OR with a masters degree in Buddhist Studies. I love rock climbing, hiking, camping, kayaking, and generally being in the outdoors. Also really into cultural exchange, politics, and history!

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is eternal open-minded experience. I strongly believe that there is something to be learned from every experience, most people just don't look for it. I love to meet new people and try new things, as long as it probably won't kill or permanently damage me I'm willing to try it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have traveled using couchsurfing extensively and I am excited to return the favor! I’m finally getting back into surfing after a hiatus from COVID and am excited to host again soon!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all good music from rock to hip-hop to classical to blues, I think there are good musicians in every genre. My favorite movies are Clockwork Orange, Pan's Labyrinth, Across the Universe, and Moulin Rouge. Some of my favorite books are Doors of Perception, the Lord of the Rings, and Ender's Game

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting Bethlehem in the West Bank was a life changing exclusive that completely opened up my perspective on the world and how people can live.
Viewing the northern lights in the bitter cold in far northern Canada was a beautiful and humbling experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am pretty well versed in outdoor skills, from wilderness survival to first aid and love to share what I know! I am also a music addict so I love to share my knowledge of a wide variety of music, music history, and even some music theory for the aspiring musician.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook and would love to make you a meal! I don’t eat meat but that doesn’t mean the food won’t be delicious :)

Also can swap stories from my travels to over 50 countries all over the world!
