i was a nerd who one day realized i liked being nerdy, but didn't like all the other nerds too much. and that i did like some, although not nearly all of, the football players, the punks, the drunks, the stoners, the band kids, the art kids, etc. so i rebelled a bit against groups that i feel people are forced into, authoritarian groups, and even definitions of identity. so i prefer not to answer this with the typical "defining characteristics". i think there's enough information in the rest of the profile to give an idea; to know more you'll actually have to meet me.

fui un nerd que se dió cuenta que no le caían bien muchos de los nerds, y que sí le caían bien algunos (si bien no muchos) de los que jugaban a fútbol americano, de los punk, de los borrachos, de los fumancheros, de los músicos, de los artistas, y demás. entonces me rebelé un poco en contra los grupos que me parecían impuestos, los grupos autoritarios, y hasta en contra las definiciones de identidad. entonces prefiero no responder esto con los típicos característicos biográficos. creo que ya hay lo suficiente en esta página para dar una idea; para saber más me tendrán que conocer.

PHILOSOPHY

um, i have a degree in philosophy but it's hard for me to say really what my personal philosophy is. there's something in the grateful dead line "shine on your love light" that makes me think of aristotle's virtue ethics, and i guess that's how i think we ought to live: each of us should be a beacon illuminating that which we love.

(parenthetical note: it would be irresponsible to mention aristotle without adding that this little part of his philosophy that i like is an exception in his racist, misogynist, and authoritarian thinking)
