Hi my name is Zack Johnston. I am 31 and love the outdoors and traveling. I work as an outdoor educator and outdoor guide so that takes me a lot of places.. I try to live a simple life which leads to not having a permanent living situation while also trying to travel and adventure at every opportunity I get. I believe in karma and putting the good out there because it brings the good back to you. I am a positive person and love to meet new people in all the new places I travel to.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I became familiar with coach surfing from a fellow course mate on a NOLS(national outdoor leadership school) outdoor educator semester. I believe this is a cool option to have places to stay while I travel making it more affordable when I can't camp out in my tent.

Interests

My interests are anything outdoors. I love nature and everything it offers and what it has done for me in my life. I enjoy to hike, backpack, rock climb, kayak , canyoneering, and ski. Pretty much if I'm outdoors I'm happy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cross country trip from Ohio to Alaska and back over the span of 4 months two years ago

In 2015 I completed a 90 day outdoor educator semester with NOLS living in the back country doing backpacking, rock climbing, canyoneering, and winter camping/alpine and touring skiing.
