About Me

I recently returned from a 25,000 mile long solo cycle ride to Sydney and am currently attempting to re-integrate myself back in to society!

I'm as up for a quiet night in with a board game or some stimulating chat as I am for a nuts night out. I've got a weirdly wide range of interests and activities, so I've always found common ground with everyone I've met (so far!). I'm currently setting up my own business making treasure hunts around museums for school trips, called "History Hunt" and moving down to Salisbury to begin work as a government scientist (while quietly whittling away ideas for my next big trip!).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Although I've yet to be in a position where I can host others, I love the process of opening up and sharing with complete strangers in a mutually beneficial way. As a guest, I will always try and play my part as a "host" by helping out or putting in the extra effort (in whatever way I feel that host would appreciate it most). I have loved my experiences as a guest across the world, and have been taught a great deal of humanity from the ecclectic mix of people I've stayed with. I am greatly indebted to them (and this platform) and look forward to playing my part as a host to others soon.

Interests

I love adventure - in all its forms - which goes hand in hand with messing about outdoors. Cycling, scuba diving, snorkelling, surfing, climbing, kayaking, running and walking in the mountain regions are all hobbies of mine.

Although I'm a "scientist", I'm actually a bit of an arty fart - don't let my boss know! Film making, photography, music, carving, poetry, painting, drawing and story-telling are some common pursuits of mine. I'm currently writing children's books for a company called Zoozil, making furniture out of pallets and setting up my own scavenger hunt company, History Hunt, for school trips. But next thing you know, I'll probably be making bowls out of leaves!

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite book: That one where the main character dies at the end but then get's re-born again and defeats the bad guy with his wand.

Favourite band: The one with the really good guitarist and nice drumming.

Favourite movie: That really good one where the bad guys gets shot by the man with a gun.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Said "Boraloola" in a really silly Aussie accent (go on, you know you want to!)
