About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Help the cities and humans of Ukraine as much as I can, both now during the war and during the Green Recovery, that will come after the war.

ABOUT ME

I'm a social entrepreneur and sustainable mobility consultant. Together with my team, we improve the quality of life in Ukraine, especially in the sector of urban mobility and traffic safety. I have 2 teenage sons and one pretty little daughter. I lived in the United States from 2011 to 2013 studying as a Fulbright scholar at the University of Maryland, a few miles from Washington DC. My hobbies are outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking, and open water swimming.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like conversations, I like learning about other people's culture and share knowledge and hints about living and travelling in Ukraine. I like to teach people to read the Cyrrilic script.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I got on Couchsurfing when I was living in the United States in 2011-2013, although I used to host people and to surf couches even before I found out about this social network. I surfed just several times so far, in USA and Sweden, and hosted about 10 people or so. My experiences has always been very positive.

Interests

The Stoic school of philosophy and the books of Nassim Taleb on probability.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies without violence. Books with meaning. Indie rock and jazz music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In March 2016 I made a road trip my two kids, 7 and 9 years old, across 8 European countries -- from Ukraine to Belgium and back -- with a total mileage of 4500 km. During that trip we hiked in the Bavarian Alps, took a ferry boat across the Rhein, ate fresh croissants in France, pumped up with cheap gasoline in Luxembourg, and of course discovered lovely museums and candy shops of Brussels. Excellent memories!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my knowledge about Ukraine, its history and current affairs. I can also talk about public policy, NGO management, cycling tourism. I know quite a lot about the USA, their policies, history and federal system. I surely can teach some Ukrainian language and Cyrillic alphabet. I would love if someone helped me improve my German.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Knowledge, passion, time. I can try to cook something simple :)
