About Me

I'm very friendly and outgoing, and love to meet new people!

I'm originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, but completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology in Kingston, Ontario. I also took part in a 3rd year exchange to Edinburgh, Scotland, which remains to be one of my favourite places. Having the opportunity to explore Europe a bit during that year was amazing, and I've been itching to get back!

Starting in February 2014, I spent about 5 months backpacking around SE Asia. I loved being able to learn about the culture and history of this part of the world. This was my first time living out of a backpack for such an extended period of time, and I certainly hope it won't be the last.

Back in Vancouver I've been working as an Administrative Assistant in an architect's office, as well as in an Out of School Care Program with children 5-12 years of age. I've worked with children for the past 6 years (summer day camps during university), and it's something I enjoy doing very much!

Currently though, I'm wanting to do something new! I love Vancouver, but after being home for over a year am looking for a change. I've booked a flight to Europe and am excited to see what happens!

A friend of mine from Toronto has recently joined me for the adventure - We are doing a few workaways and will be travelling around France, Spain, Morocco and Portugal - We are loving it so far and excited for the adventures to come!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've heard such great things about couchsurfing, but have never actually tried it! I simply love the idea, and think it's a fantastic way to not only meet new people, but get to learn more about a different culture.. while also getting to share a bit of your own!

My favourite part about travelling is without a doubt the people I meet, and I'm hoping this will add to that experience. I also adore when travel friends come and visit Vancouver - I am always up for a drink! I am really looking forward to hosting when I am back home :)

Interests

Meeting new people!! - Aways up for a good chat! Let's have a few drinks while we're at it.. I also like to think my French and German skills improve this way! We'll need to go to the bar for me to hablo some Espanol..

Travel - Best way to learn about yourself and others.

Being active and outdoors - I've always played sports, most recently I was captain for a co-ed intramural soccer team in Vancouver, lots of fun! Otherwise, I really enjoy going on runs and some occasional yoga. The best though is wandering around a new city :)

FOOD - Always willing to try new things! Probably at least half the fun of travelling.. follow your stomach.

I'm very easy going and generally just go with the flow - I like to have fun and laugh a lot.. Especially if you make a good joke!
