About Me

Hey everyone! I'm Zaïd! I live in Montpellier, France 🇫🇷 for work. I basically like meeting people from all over the world 🌍, hanging out downtown for a drink🍺 or a night party🕺🏻(yes!😂), go to the beach (yeeessss!!!😍), share culture and interests, practice languages (yeeeee..xN..sss!!) and make new friends...
I’m also so willing to show Montpellier ♥️, the city where I live, to CS visitors, with so much plaisure!

I consider myself to be a kind, trustworthy and joyful person. I like to be challenged by new experiences and will always tend to go for trying things I’ve never done before. Traveling and getting to know new places and cultures are some of my life passions. I like hanging out with friends, meeting new people, traveling and living new experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first got to know couchsurfing by a friend of mine that I've met in a hostel in Vienna, Austria 🇦🇹(James ✋ high five, man). I was so exited about the main concept and I've joined the community in order to share interests, meet new people and make more friends from all over the world. I also aim to practice languages. I already speak and am leaning some fascinating ones!

Interests

I like to meet new people in order to exchange culture and interests.
Have a drink or go out for a walking tour in group are some of my main interests.
I like to invite people and being invited to game-groups or pizza parties for instance.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC
I'm so attached to every kind of music in relation with hispanic culture (spain and latin america).
I’m so into Latin pop (reggaeton and such), and arabesque music (arabic, turkish and persian). I also like traditional latin music (kind of salsa 💃, cha-cha, rumba...)

BOOKS
I'm so fascinated by reading books, especially youth books, history, geopolitics, and science books.
My favourite Classical writers and novels :
- 🇫🇷 the inspiring Victor Hugo (favourite books: les misérables, Notre Dame de Paris, Le dernier jour d'un condamné)
- 🇬🇧 Charles Dikens (favourite books: Oliver Twist, The signal-man, The haunted house, To be read at dusk, Great expectations)
- 🇬🇧 Paula Hawkins- The girl of the train
- 🇨🇭 Joël Dicker- La disparition de Stéphanie Mailer, La vérité sur l’affaire Harry Quebert
- 🇺🇸 Harlan Coben- The stranger, Run away, Don’t let go
- 🇬🇧 Agatha Christie- Murder on the orient express, Partners in crime, The ABC murders, And then there were none
- 🇪🇸 Lope de Vega- El castigo sin venganza
And more other famous arabic writers and books from Egypt 🇪🇬, Lebanon 🇱🇧, Morocco 🇲🇦 and Algeria 🇩🇿.

TV SHOWS
My favourite TV show so far is : Les dessous des cartes (ie. Mit offenen Karten im deutsch 🇩🇪), a french/german TV show that explains geopolitics, politics, history and geography using maps. The TV show airs on the franco-german channel ARTE.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most fascinating thing that happened to me until now is the first time I left my country for a complete new life in France 🇫🇷 a few years ago. Joy, fear, excitment and all sensations were all mixed there!!😂

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm such an open minded person so I basically can talk about everything. I like sharing interests and ideas, playing social games, practice languages and learn about a different culture or just have a night walk and chill…

What I can offer/share to my surfers in Montpellier :
- Have a walk and chill in the historic center,
- Watch the sunset on the Peyrou Terrasse,
- Take beautiful pictures for instagram 🤣,
- Share a good local meals at home or at one of the fanciest restaurants of the city but we can also cook at home! I can make you taste my couscous for instance (THE traditionnal moroccan meal 🇲🇦) or a Ratatouille accompagnied by wine and cheese (typical Provence meal, south of France 🇫🇷)
- Go to the beach 🏖, have a swim and play games,
- Go out in the region to see landscapes, rivers et waterfalls for canoeing and relax,
- Discuss about interesting and varied topics,
- Have a drink together, go for a night party, etc
