Overview
About Me
I'm a biochemistry student who enjoys travel, sunny days, and techno. I'm pretty laid-back and, in my finest moments, quite witty.
There are few experiences more delightful than conversing with someone who is open-minded, well-traveled, and well-read.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Incorporating couchsurfing in my travels usually results in a more authentic experience -- I'd much rather get to know the locals and their favorite parts of the city instead of whatever's put on pamphlets for tourists.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Open to most things produced in good taste. I most often listen to electronic (I confess to being a technohead) and indie music.
Movies: Like all other forms of art, films that are made for the sake of creation precede films produced for the mere act of making money. "Waltz with Bashir" and "Grave of the Fireflies" are my all-time favourites; both explore very serious themes through beautiful animations. "Irreversible", "Fight Club", "Revolutionary Road", "Persepolis", "Django Unchained", "Five Broken Cameras", "Before Sunrise"and "Bullhead" are other good ones that come to mind.
Books: I love talking about books; ask me in person if you really want to know!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Decided to fly off to a town I knew virtually nothing about for three years, in the spirit of adventure
- Survived presenting my findings in a roomful of old farts, and won an award for it
Teach, Learn, Share
Happy to help with English, and eager to pick up more German. (Can't admit to having too many skills that'd be relevant outside of academia.)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm up for having a nice time out in the city, and I'm happy to carry my weight in terms of cooking and cleaning.
