About Me

I come from Pakistan but have been living in Wroclaw for more than 4 years now. Like everyone else on this site, I like travelling, sometimes alone, sometimes with friends, sometimes with strangers. I am always curious about different cultures, people and history.
What I really enjoy is a good conversation where both parties end up learning new thing and broadening their knowledge and understanding of things, in short serious discussions is where I shine ;)

I have been living here for a while now, which is a world apart from where I come from, but somehow this small beautiful city has found a place in my heart and I call it home now. At least for now.

Which means that I am almost always willing to meet up for a coffee and showing around a bit. If the above about me didn't scare you, send me a message ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Big fan of Movies, Tv Series, performing art in general.

Some of my most favorite movies..
The Reluctant Fundamentalist, The Departed, Lincoln, Django Unchained, Inception, Watchmen, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, The Prestige, Pulp Fiction, Scent of a Women, Donnie Brasco, Gladiators, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Star Wars, Usual Suspects, LA Confidential, Up in the air, Invictus, Fight Club and many more..

Most favorite tv series..
House, Lost, Game of Thrones, Dexter, The Walking Dead, Homeland, Sherlock, Newsroom, Suits, Battlestar Galictica, Friends, Modern Family, How I met your Mother, Fringe, Grey's Anatomy, Castle and many more..
But lately i don't have time enough to start anything new. Life.. it gets busy ;)

But I have to specially mention House here, that tv series is very close to my heart, I still regularly watch random episode of it when I have time. So if you also love House, we are instant friends ;)

Books:
A lot but few which stand out.
Thousand Splendid Suns and The Mountains Echoed by Khalid Housani (the second one had a profound effect on my thinking in general about life).
Little Prince, Manon Lescaut, Book Thief, The Stranger, The Plague, The Forty Rules of Love, I am Malala, Sophie's World, Blindnes, Quiet, A world of ice and fire series.

Music really depends on mood. I have been told by my friends that I listen to a lot of sad music and I googled it, it turns out there is a whole genre of that kind of music called sadcore :D
But technically my music taste falls in folks/Indie kind of music. William Fitzsimmons, The Paper Kites, Ray LaMontagne, Marketa Irglova etc
But one singer that stands out is Ben Howard, who I discovered thanks to House, and since then have literally fallen in love with. There is no day where I don't listen to him and there is no song of his which I don't like or in fact adore.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Les Almadies (Les pointes des Almadies). The Western tip of the African continent in Dakar, Senegal.. from where you can see the tip of South America.. well not really but it feels like that :P

Once while travelling from Dubai to Jakarta on an airplane, I saw a small beautiful island from which clouds seems to be rising towards sky. I wish I had taken a photo but it was one of the most amazing thing I have ever seen. I wish I knew which place it was so I could visit it.

Emanuel Vigeland Museum in Oslo. A hidden gem, if you are there it is a must see. But plan carefully as it is only open on Sundays for four hours.

Biking on Princes Islands in Istanbul

Surviving Tatra Mountains in Poland

Sailing in Mazury lakes.

Falling in Love.. ;)

Countless small moments which stick with you for a long time but because of their simplicity and personal nature only you could understand their significance, like just simply sitting with a friend looking at the sea without talking for hours..

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how to save your life by coding.. ;)
I can teach you Urdu, well I can try, so far my students haven't been so proud of their teacher :)
I can help you improve your English with conversation.

Any help with polish is always appreciated ;)
