我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I have always dreamed of travelling ever since I finished my National Service with the Singapore Police Force back in 2010 when I was 20 years old.

Recently, I have decided to explore travelling solo and I absolutely enjoyed it. My most recent trip was in Sydney and I met a lot of interesting nice people along the way and since then, it has really inspired me to constantly travel to new places and discover more of what the world has to offer.

To be honest, I have never couchsurf-ed before and this will be my first time surfing (well, there's always a first time to everything, isn't it?) and hopefully, host in the future. (Definitely not here to leech off free accommodation because one can always book a hotel and stay alone, however, the experiences that one will gain through hostels, Airbnb and also via here, Couchsurfing alongside meeting the locals can never be bought!)

As mentioned above, travelling has since been one of my biggest interest. I'm also keen in learning foreign languages, new cultures, exploring new countries, cities and places as well as meeting new people.

I have always been fascinated about yoga, contortion and of those stunning contortionists. I do stretch from time to time, whenever I have the chance to do so. I am also keen on fashion and I will source for things whenever I'm in and/out of town.

I listen to most spectrum of music actually, the playlists I have are mixed. However, I do prefer listening to pop musics and some of the popular divas,. One of my all time favourite diva would be Christina Aguilera, her self and songs speaks to me, I just simply loved her!

Movies wise, I usually, mostly and preferably go for comedies and those hilarious ones. I am never a book fan because they tend to make me sleepy.

Being alone and enjoying my very own company for most things, including travelling solo to somewhere far away from home.

As I grew older, I learnt that one doesn't necessarily need company for everything. In Singapore, where I'm from, most of the people here are generally quite conservative and somewhat traditional when it comes to life. Most of them and my friends would prefer to travel with their families, friends and partners and the thought of travelling alone is an insane and dangerous idea that no one would even think about.

When I made a hasty decision to book the tickets, pack my bags to go solo in Sydney, most of my friends were strongly against it and to be truthful, I had my doubts and reservations too. All these years, I have been living in comfort, in the shelter of my home and family. I was unsure if I was able to survive in somewhere foreign on my own.

After my trip, I came back with new experiences, memories and I was really glad that I made it and travelling alone at a young age made me more independent and knowledgeable; which I believe made me into someone better.

I would love to share stories and experiences from where I came from and the culture we have over here in Singapore. I could also teach you the basic words and or sentences in Chinese and Malay if you are interested! I am also open to discuss about everything literally. Similarly, we could exchange, converse and learn our different languages together.
