About Me

I'm a newb to the formal couchsurfing scene aside from having hosted a nice british fellow some years back. I like entertaining, talking about the idiosyncracies of life, cooking for people, throwing parties, putting myself in harrowing outdoor situations, playing music in large groups of open minded people, teaching music theory, making pickles, shooting pool and taking leaps of faith. I love meeting people that lead different lives and are from different backgrounds and exchanging wisdom. I have a background in the environmental sciences and hope to get into some agricultural endeavors in the not so distant future. My girlfriend Emily is an amazing scuba diver/artist/marine scientist fun woman currently finishing her graduate thesis.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My lady Emily and I are road tripping from the Sierras to New Mexico to Canada to make an indy ski/travel documentary, hoping to meet some characters along the way, and maybe find a few floors to crash on in exchange for Californian delicacies!! and pay it forward upon our return of course!

Music, Movies, and Books

Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Tom Petty, The Killers, this would be more meaningful if we got genre specific. I'm a big fan of Russell Crow, Meryl Streep, Anthony Hopkins, and Nicholas Cage in all of the movies he did that weren't terrible. Books, oy... the internet has kind of ruined me on books if I'm honest. James Patterson crime novels were a guilty pleasure for a little while.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, I'd say I've given a few pep talks in my life that were amazing to the poor souls I was trying to motivate.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a very good music and ski teacher. and an adequate teacher of many other random things, including but not limited to, yo-yo-ing, skateboarding, preserving fruits and vegetables. I'm interested in learning most things, particularly things that have allowed people to bring variety into their life. I have some artisanal central californian coastal delicacies which will have to remain a surprise.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good music, footrubs, a home cooked delicious dinner, surprise artisanal delicacies.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Costa Rica, France, Italy, Mexico, South Africa
