Overview
About Me
I'm an aspiring conservation geneticist, and currently working on a PhD at the University of Massachusetts. My research is focused on applying conservation genetic tools for the conservation of stream-dwelling fish and other organisms. I am hoping that my professional endeavors, past and future, help to conserve our natural resources (especially head water trout!). I love back packing, rock climbing, fly fishing, and cycling. I'm always excited for the next adventure.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Personally:
As a student on a tight budget and touring cyclist, Couchsurfing is an invaluable resource. It enables me to see an area through a local's eyes, which is difficult to accomplish camping or in a hotel. Also, I've simply learned so much through my experiences Couchsurfing from local history to general life wisdom.
Philosophically:
People naturally put themselves into insular groups of like-minds thus we begin to forget about other positions and viewpoints. Couch surfing is a great opportunity to meet a diverse group of people. It's simply good for society for us to see how much variety in lifestyles, opinion, and experience really exists out there.
