Hi, my name is Zaki and i live in this tiny place call Singapore. Well, you may have heard about us and how clean our country is or perhaps of us having the highest execution rate in the world...

Singapore is just a place somewhere in the world and it may be a lot like your world or nothing like it. Asia is an awesome place to be, it really is but i do wish to live somewhere away for a couple of years.

I love the idea of diversity... people, places,interests,relationships. It is always good to mix! Be it culture, everyday practice and even in my art!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What i really like about couchsurfing when i am not travelling is, it kinda brings the world to me. When a Japanese, Serbian, Lebanese or Finnish walks into my room, I feel like i am travelling too. Especially when they share bits of themselves/cultures with me.
And when i am travelling, cs open to me a world/perspective i do not think i will see have i not surf!

a list of my favorite movie(not in any order): the reader, into the wild, catch me if you can, before sunrise/sunset, candy, city of god, the dreamers, fight club, beginners, the constant gardener, annie hall, of love and death, love me if you dare, blood diamond, body of lies, pulp fiction, the notebook, love me if you dare, the beach, serendipity, a lot like love, foreign movies and the list can go on and on.... i love watching movies! we can have a movie date the whole day if either you or i are sick of exploring the city. And introduce me to the movies from your country cause i will be interested.

music: in general.. i listen to everything. i like to to listen to the tune of beirut, lykke li, etienne de crecy, the xx, bon iver, phoenix, sigur ros, disclosure, james blake, ingrid, mika, a tribe called quest and movies soundtrack (gladiator and etc)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing things happened every time i follow this advice: So never refuse an invitation, never resist the unfamiliar, never fail to be polite and never outstay the welcome. Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It's probably worth it.
