About Me

CURRENT MISSION

At this point in my life i am in looking to get in touch with people from other cultures. I wish to have more of a grass roots experience and offer my time to help others during my trip.

ABOUT ME

I am a very easy going individual who is always looking for something new and different to experience. I am open minded to all thoughts and people. (Draft 2) I am taking this trip so that i can learn from the other parts of the world. I can learn about family values, friendship, and from the land. I have been working a serious job thinking it was a "possible" career, but i need to open my mind more. I need to learn another language and another way of life.

Ok so now i have the time. I am looking to open my heart and mind and to meet new people in this new endeavor.

Oh and i am not serious abou life like my profile seems. I like to have fun and try not to be too serious about anything in life. Life is too short... but it happens (being serious).

PHILOSOPHY

Live life to the fullest. Never stop joking and playing around. You are only as old as you want to be. Share your love and heart with the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well so far my experience on CS has been amazing. I surfed several couches and have then returned to spend more time with my hosts. I enjoy getting to know people so i try and get the most out of my experiences. So far during my travels i have stayed with couchsurfers, other travelers i have met on the road who i have convinced to join CS, and i have been sharing my life with others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is the most amazing way of meeting people. I surfed my first couch in Buenos Aires in Jan 09 and since then have surfed 4 couches. It has been amazing. There is no better way to travel. It is unique to get to see someones side of the city that is not necessarily all touristic. Even better is the time you get to spend with your hosts and getting to know about them and their lives.

During my first surfing experience i meet my host and another surfer who was at the same house. A month after meeting these two people we ended up traveling through Uuguay together for three weeks. Now i have life long friends and it is only the beginning.

I also attended a wedding in Argentina with another CSer and would have never had this experience without this site. I will never forget that day.

Last night as i was going to sleep i thought about my CS experience and realized that it is important to point out that there are a lot of amazing people that will host outside of CS.com. I have had hosts from all over Arg, Urg, Chile that have been amazing and have given me the gift of being a part of there life.

I have invited various travelers to stay at my house in San Francisco to crash. When in Madrid i meet some other Americans who invited to stay with them for 4 days which was a wonderful experience.

All i have experienced so far is great positive feedback and cant to meet you all, well at least some of you.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy listening to everything. I like it all and this list is something i wrote in years ago.
Grateful Dead, Willie, Waylon, Johnny, Merle, and Kris. My favorite band would have to be Corrosion Of Conformity followed by Pantera. To list a few more... Neil Young, The Band, Grateful Dead, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Kiss, GnR, The Doors, original Sepultura, Sigur Ros, Black Label Society, Steely Dan, Taj Mahal, George Clinton and P-Funk, Faith No More, Pennywise, Gogol Bordello, The Clash, ZZ Top, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Primus, Phil Lesh and Firends, The Rolling Stones (my favorite), pretty much anything ..... I think i covered a lot of different genres of music. There are more but not enough time, we can talk about it in person.
Cumbia jajaja

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing experience i have had was in February of last year while i was in Vang Vienne in Laos. I was sitting on a platform above the river and just listening to the water go by and looking out towards the mountains and i felt something take over me. This feeling was overwhelming where nothing else existed in this world. I would almost describe this feeling as a fleeting moment of enlightenment. No time existed it was life at its best.

Teach, Learn, Share

Ok lets think about this... I love music and think that i am very knowledgable about most music from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s and rock and metal from the 90s.
Ok maybe telling what i want to learn would be easier. I want to see families. I want to spend more time going to family events while i travel. I love seeing families get together because i did not have this opportunity growing up. My family is very small. I need to learn about this so i can teach my kids and .... but that is going to be several years away.
I can share my heart and my passion for life.

During my trip in South America i have met 3 journalists and have learned so much from them. So to carry on the theme i would love to meet other journalists as i travel. I love learning about the history of a country and what has made the country the way it is today.
I am also in search of a spirtual leader. So if you know of one please help a friend out.

Some great books that i have read that are very inspirational....
The Essential Dalai Lama, Shantaram, The Alchemist**, Siddhartha, Mountains Beyond Mountains**, Three Cups of Tea**, The Deep Economy

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Italy, Laos, Mexico, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United States, Uruguay
