About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Returning to couch surfing after a long hiatus ( filled with much travel, home ownership and massive construction). Looking forward to all the wonderful new people and adventures CS brings.

ABOUT ME
We are a fanciful bunch. Zach is a bearded poet bard, at home on the bar stool, in the kitchen, in world-class museums, or wandering barefoot in the woods. Casey is a barefoot leathercrafter and wrangler of spines.
the world is just too damn beautiful to not stroll through. Both of us are adventurers and feel that our home should be a welcoming place. We do have a cat, for any of you that are allergic and her name is Lil' fuzz And two mighty hounds/ lap dogs. You've been warned.
We are Burners, lovers, drinkers, dancers, mystics, poets, free thinkers, and all other sorts of monkey-making shennanigannerer's(try to say that 5 times fast).
PHILOSOPHY
There isn't much that can't be accomplished with enough bottles of wine or whiskey.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We are avid surfers and hosts. This is a new profile for us, as we recently have made a new home together. For past surfing experiences and references please check out sadieandbyrdie (Casey is aka sadie)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I began surfing while I was living and traveling in Europe in 2007. It was an amazing experience, almost 9 months of solid staying on couches before I returned home to New Orleans and opened my home to surfers. I love to repay the kindness I was shown. Since 2007 I have surfed in more than 15 countries and have had countless guests and more than a few new members to my tribe.
(Zach) I was introduced to CS by Casey and have had such a blast meeting staying with people on our travels, seeing the world from the native perspective, and opening our home to travelers.

Music, Movies, and Books
Jeanette Winterson's The Passion, Bukowski's Tales of Ordinary Madness, Marquez's Strange Pilgrims, Goldman's The Color of Light, Kerouvac's Tristessa, J.R.Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, and many more than that. We have a veritable library at home. We both love movies as well and have very eclectic taste and this would take too long.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed the rock of Gibraltar (very hungover). Saw the sun rise from the highest point in Paris after giving poetry readings all night(not hungover, but definitely still intoxicated). We both were part of a voodoo ceremony welcoming the Loa into the city on Mardi Gras day. We climbed Sugar Loaf mountain in the middle of Rio with ropes and pitons by moonlight(for all the sissies that took the gondola up, HA!)
Teach, Learn, Share
We believe in meeting others before knowing what we can learn from them or teach them.
