About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Preparing my next travels to Australia...

ABOUT ME

I'm a polite and nice person. At first I can be shy and silent but if we found a common ground I can enjoy good chatting and joking. I am usually a good listener but, depending on the audience, I can also be a chatty person.
I love meeting people from other countries and new culture and showing them the beautiful place where I live. Not only the positive things but also the negative and bad ones because I think that this is a way to know better oneself and one own culture. I also love teaching Italian to the foreigners, even some easy words, and share my language and culture.

PHILOSOPHY

Just relax and enjoy life! I know that's hard but I try the harder I can!

Interests

I like singing (I had two rock bands in the past, for a short period), acting (I acted on stage and behind a camera, just for fun, and I'm ready to do it again), writing (I used to collaborate with two local issues, writing about cinema, politics, culture and tourism), eating and cooking (I'm not a very good cook, as I don't know so many recipes, but I enjoy cooking pasta and sweets). I like also photography but I want to buy a good digital reflex.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like music, cinema, literature, and art but I don't have a particular favored genre. I enjoy everything is peculiar, strange and exciting, it has to communicate me something special and weird, beautiful or funny.
I also like to experiment other culture features: I may prefer a pop Turkish singer than a very sophisticated Western rock music composer; I can enjoy more an almost unknown Kurdish director than a famous Western one.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think that the most amazing thing I've seen in my life is the open air museum of Filippo Bentivegna called "Enchanted Castle" ("Castello Incantato"), present in my town Sciacca: this peculiar man, not an artist, not a simple man, not a philosopher, carved hundreds and hundreds of faces on the rocks of his fields, leaving us an extraordinary example of primitive art called "Art Brut". If you are in Sciacca, you can't miss this masterpiece of world art.

Another amazing thing I've seen in my life is the marvelous Australian cliff called "Twelve Apostles", a wonderful place on the Great Ocean Road: a beautiful collection of limestone stacks very close to the coast.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching Italian to foreigners and maybe, one day, it will my future job.
I also need to learn other languages, as I would like to work also in tourism: I'm studing on my computer French and German so this could be a very nice chance to practice them.
I also love to share cultures and I think that the best side to share of anyone culture is food: I would like to know easy recipes from other countries.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, England, Greece, Ireland, Morocco, Northern Ireland, San Marino, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, Vatican City State, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In
