ABOUT ME

Lisa and I live in the beautiful city of Cape Town. We love travelling, exploring nature, visiting wine farms, reading, picnics, hikes, going to the movies and eating popcorn and watching Big Bang Theory! We have two cats who we adopted when they were abandoned as kittens, and they rule our house. We are both patriotic and are excited at all the development that is happening in South Africa. Most of all, we love to explore, learn, grow, be challenged and take advantage of every opportunity that comes our way. Lisa is a researcher involved in social development. I own a virtual digital studio that I manage from afar while travelling. Lisa and I met in high school 10 years ago, and in December we just got married.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are currently out exploring the world, so we have not yet hosted many people. We are looking to be hosted on our worldly travels and experience the culture of each place more intensely, through the eyes of the local people. Learning the secrets of a place away from the beaten track!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have couch surfed once before in Brazil, but are hoping to do loads, loads more!

Interests

We love adventure and travel. We really enjoy going to markets and wine farms. We read a lot and most of all we love experiencing the essence of a place. We also love going to trance parties... stomp, stomp, stomp :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed Kilimanjaro with my Dad for my 21st birthday and floated in a hot air balloon over the Serengeti, watching the migration.
We got engaged on a pirate ship, sailing into the sunset around Cape Town harbour!
We went to Iguacu Falls and rode up the waterfall.
We have chased off rhinos on foot while walking in the Kruger National Park!

Teach, Learn, Share

We have some pretty crazy stories from our adventures so far, which we love to tell and share. We love to hear other stories of the good, bad and often funny situations travellers find themselves in.
