About Me

Well I'm a Quebecer who a few years ago in mechanical engineering in Canada. I did an exchange in France while doing it and had the opportunity to go back to Paris to get a PhD. I never thought about doing postgrad studies but then told myself..... "why not"? Then I was offered a position after graduating and answered again with a "why not".

So here I am, in sweet Paris, working as a material scientist and sometimes teaching. I know, it's kinda geeky, but I do like it... :-). But don't worry, I never talk about it; I'm conscious that most of you are not that much into material mechanics ;-).

I'm pretty much easygoing, random and sometimes pretty sarcastic. I really love meeting new people and, obviously, new cultures.

However I prefer talking about me in a real conversion, instead of sharing my life on a web page! So go ahead and contact me, I'll be more than happy to tell you more!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to host a lot and still host once in a while. A few years ago, I did a one year non-stop hosting. It was good but I prefer now to host a bit less and have more time for my surfers.

Write me a nice message and we'll see. I'm pretty easy to convince if iI feel you're genuine :-).

... And I sometimes surf also. It was always great!

Interests

Well i did a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering so I kinda like it. I did some classical guitar in the past. Had a prog-metal band when I was younger also.

But I'm mostly on CS for the life experiences that it gives you. So yeah.... I guess I like to meet new people!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : Indie Rock. Huge fan of The National. Air.
Movies : Kubrick, Delta Force 1,2&3, Lynch, Chan-wook Park.
Books : Kundera, Danny Laferriere

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hum.... I couchsurfed in Kosovo once, it was quite nice.... Also couchsurfed in Ethiopia.
Once, I hitchhiked through Jordan. It was great trip. Someone gave the me a copy of the holy Coran along the way! I also had a ride for 5 hours with a Saudi guy who didn't speak a word of english.
And I biked from Paris to Wien last summer :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I teach every year at uni a class for master's degree, so I guess I can teach you irreversible deformation in materials! But I don't think most people will be interested in it... I also teach numerical methods for solving differentaial equations but I think I would feel at work talking about it!

I can for sure teach a little bit about music and my mothertongue! And I love to share about everything, from science to geopolitics via religions and my home country!
