I'm Zara, a digital nomad with a sprinkle of hippie vibes, from Iran! I've found my own groove where I roam around, but settle in off-the-beaten-path places.

Back in May 2018, I waved goodbye to my office job and said hello to a backpacking trip. Originally, it was planned to travel for 9-12 months, but things took a different turn. I started by volunteering, hitchhiking, and soaking up local cultures. Eventually, I figured out how to work online to extend my adventures.

Then, in February 2020, I landed in Sri Lanka, not knowing the whole world would soon change because of Covid. I ended up staying there for two whole years! But I made the best of it, diving into the Sri Lankan lifestyle and making memories that will stick with me forever. Now Sri Lanka is my second home.

After a quick visit back home to Iran, I hit the road again in October 2022 and am still on the road. Through all the ups and downs, my love for exploring new places and hearing people's stories never fades.

To add more, I'm all about living green, reducing waste, and doing some yoga and meditation wherever I go. I have a gluten allergy, so please don't be insulted if I refuse to try some brought gluten products.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm so excited to learn about the differences and similarities between people, places, cuisine, lifestyles, etc. around the world. It's an amazing experience to hear others' stories and watch the world through their eyes.

The other important reason is paying back the hospitalities I received when I was traveling (if I can 🙏🏻)
