ABOUT ME

We are Bjorn and Ellen, a married 35 and 37 year old couple who loves travelling,culture,good food,the company of friends and family and of course each other.
Bjorn is a nurse, working in an elderly home.
I am a social worker who works with adults with mental and psychological problems.

Our main purpose in life is to make the most out of it and try to travel as much as we can.
In 2011-2012 we have been travelling for a year in Mongolia, China, Laos, Cambodja, Thailand, Sydney, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Easter Island, Chile, Bolivia and Peru. We loved not having to work, spending time together, meeting people and seeing lovely nature, culture and soaking up the atmosphere.
Since we got back travels continue ( but just for a couple of days at a time ) since we go around Europe to visit people we have met and invite others to our place. It Always reminds us of the good times!! In 2014 we have set of on another adventure and we travelled in Australia and Europe for 9 months.

In 2020 we will not be able to host since we will be travelling southern Africa and bits and pieces of Asia for 13 months.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are happy to have (max. 2 people) over to stay with us (we can offer you a bed in a private room and a shared bathroom). If we have the time we can show you around in our town or in Bruges,Gent,Antwerp...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Up to now we have
Saddly enough - for couchsurfers - we dont live in a city and a bit remote from bigger towns, so people didnt ask to stay over jet.
For sure we do host people from accross Europe but up till now it where the people we met ons previous trips.

Interests

Like culture,travelling...
Good food,playing board games,being outside in nature and make walks...
We appreciate a beer or a glass of wine together with some nice company and chat a bit.
We are not really party people (that doesnt mean 'boring' :-) )

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing a lovely sunset with nice travellers from all over the world in the Gobi Dessert in Mongolia, climbing the Chinese Great Wall, riding a bicycle on the country side in Laos, seeing the temples of Angkor Wat, staying with locals and have some beers in Cambodia. Explore the beautifull nature of New Zealand, skydive, swim with Dolphins, visit the moai on Easter Island, wath the Sunrise/sunset over Lake Titicaca; Peru, cycling in Bolivia, seeing Machu Pichu
So far our travells...
On of the most amazing things i have done and still do is: trying to love myself and appreciate the small things in life, meeting my husband, being born in a lovely warm family like mine. Pretty lame maybe, but if not for the people i love i would be a completaly different person.
