About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to learn, to experience, to grow

ABOUT ME

My journey began 7 years ago, trying to live my life the way I've always wanted. So far it has been a journey of discovery that led me through 60 countries around the world.

I prefer nature and outdoors to the bustle of the big cities, quiet moments to the loud parties. Long term vegetarian, non-smoker and non-drinker.

I love photography - a way to picture and document ever changing world around me.

PHILOSOPHY

"Every dream is given with a power to make it come true, but you need to work for it" R.Bach

"We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love... and then we return home. " Aboriginal proverb

"€œLive, travel, adventure, bless, and don'€™t be sorry." Jack Kerouac

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've used all kinds of hospitality exchange website for many years. Both surfed and hosted a lot.

The core of it is about hospitality exchange, not about meeting (drinking) in a bar or chatting online. CS went in a wrong direction to be another fb like social network, so I suggest to use an alternative instead, Trustroots for example.

Music, Movies, and Books

I find it hard finding new music while traveling, but my few recent favourites are Regina Spektor, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Omnia, Faun.
Some of the music I've been listening to in the past: My old favorites are Freddy Mercury and Queen, russian rock bands Akvarium, DDT, Splin, Butusov, modern rock acts (Red Hot Chili Peppers, System of a down), acoustic artists (John Frusciante, John Butler, Jose Gonzales, Damien Rice, Saulius Mykolaitis), some occasional hardcore or metal bands (Heaven Shall Burn, Defdump) and everything else I've just forgot to name.
Books: Marquez, Hemingway, Remarque, Camus, Dostoevsky, Strugatsky Brothers, Haruki Murakami,Richard Bach, Bulgakov...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding for free in the open-air carrige of iron ore train through majestic landscape of Mauritanian Sahara
Running ultra marathon

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach juggling and playing a guitar.
I can share my travel experience from different places around the world, low budget most of the time.
I'd love to learn more about cooking (vegan).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Pleas read this part carefully, before writing a message to me, to see if we're a right type of host for you and set correct expectations.

It's not allowed to bring alcohol to our house, nor it's ok if you drink or smoke (including weed) inside. Not ok to come here drunk/stoned either. We're not the type of people that enjoy partying, but rather prefer a hike in the nature, a run in the park or drink some tea at home.

We are both vegans/vegetarians. If you come to stay with us you'll be able to enjoy a fresh green smoothie every morning, but cooking or bringing meat here is not ok with us.

I understand that you might have flexible plans, especially as a hitchhiker, but at night we sleep, so it's not ok if you arrive in the middle of the night or after 11 pm.

We live in a 2 room apartment, which is about 20 minutes walking from the city centre . We have a couch in the living room that can sleep 1 or 2. Maximum 3 days stay at first, unless we arrange something else in advance.
