ABOUT ME

All about me? Impossible! Come and meet me and then probably you will get to know who I am.

Currently I am doing PhD at the University of Paris Est. My topic is connected to water treatment, which is a very important basic issue nowadays. It makes me really proud to be involved in a development of certain treatment technologies which might some day be useful to fight successfully water pollution in the world.

The world is your, feel free, be yourself and love the moment. Be patient and passionate. Create your own circumstances, live your own life and not someone's expectations or dreams.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One great French philosopher Michel de Montaigne sais that traveling is "frotter et limer sa cervelle contre celle d'autrui", which means to rub and glaze your mind against the minds of other people. On my opinion CS is the best way to share with and to learn from local people. It gives you a unique possibility to merge with the foreign environment and to open different horizons.
I also like that CS is promoting "non-monetary" relationship among people. It seems that nowadays money or material benefits became the universal value. The idea of sharing "just like that" is amazing to me!

Interests

Frankly saying, I am interested in so many things that sometimes it is hard to define the favourite ones.

One of my major interest are Environmental Science. That is what I have been studying for already 9 years and that is what feels like the right thing to me. Currently I am doing a PhD thesis, so that takes all of the time from all my other interests.

I am also keen on yoga and dancing. I am practicing yoga since I was 12 and it was a big part of my childhood. Dancing is something I can do anytime and anywhere! That is soo cool!

Regarding other sports I would mention my fresh interest in parkour. Since I moved to Paris I was looking for some crazy intensive sport to do and I then I found out about parkour, which was actually born in the suburbs of Paris. Since the first training I am really passionate about it and my coach is the one who stands at the origin of it. So that gives additional motivation =))) Here is the video of classes at our club

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies? I watch almost everything! Hmm.... except horror movies... Otherwise I would have horror dreams! :-D

BOOKS! I love boooks! All kinds! I like to read them and... to smell! Mmmmm...

Music was a passion when I was a kid. I used to sing in a chor and to play piano and to play a guitar! Ohh! Good times. But for now I like only to listen to it. What kind of music I like the most? I am not so good in terms but I like pretty everything except "hard" and "heavy" sounds ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I appreciate a lot the fact that hosts share their homes and put trust to the surfers, who are basically strangers. A small present (usually gastronomical) from my home country or from the country I live in is a display of gratitude from my side. I also try to show a lot of respect to the host`s house: keep it clean and tidy, minimize any disturbance. I always try to spend time with my host according to his/her availability. If there is an opportunity and time, it is a pleasure for me to prepare a meal and to spend some time together.
